Fourth Sunday of Lent
14th March 2021
Children’s Resource
In today’s Gospel, we read how much God loves us, that he sent his only Son into the world to save us from sin, so that we might have eternal life with God. We are told that Jesus is the light of the World, but those who choose to live in darkness and in sin, do not like the light. God is inviting us to be children of the light and to turn away from sin.
Today is also Mothering Sunday. Let us remember all mothers today, both with us and in heaven.
Start your prayer by creating a sacred space, you will need:
A Purple cloth or scarf
A cross or crucifix
A candle (real or battery)
A bible or prayer book
We begin our prayer by blessing ourselves;
+ In the name of the Father,
and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit.
Amen
John 3:14-21 New International Version
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I Love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my Soul. Since I cannot, at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
